When going through tough situations or facing problems or feeling stuck with routine, it is important to take a step towards getting out of the images of the mind and begin making new memories. Let go re-reading the previous chapter and write a new chapter of your life.
Choose to do something new. Get out of your comfort zone. Move beyond the fear of the unknown. To move out of fear & past memories make new memories.
If you don’t make new memories the old ones will always hold you back. We get stuck in the old when we don’t make new memories. Living the same way, doing the same routine day after day, even though we feel stuck is not normal, it creates stress.
Life is meant to be lived to the fullest every moment. Living to the fullest is living with energy and excitement.
Start doing new things with yourself, the possibilities are endless. When you do new things you will find new things about yourself. Start with simple things that would stimulate you.
Go for a walk in nature, hug a tree, change your diet, fly a kite, run on the beach, dance in the rain, draw or paint a picture even if you have never tried it before, practice writing with your other hand just for fun, cook a new recipe for yourself, try eating new kind of food, volunteer at the animal shelter or a local food bank., or play a board game with someone you love.
Many times, fear is the only thing that keeps us from trying new things. When we take time to sit with ourselves and question our mind, we understand that the mind exaggerates our fear.
Life is all about experiences, and every experience teaches us new things about ourselves. We think we know ourselves but only when we try new things we get to know our capacity, our likes and our dislikes. Make a commitment to try new things with yourself, even if you do a small thing outside your comfort zone, you will reap great benefits.
You can also extend yourself to do things like learning a new language, joining a yoga class, or joining a laughter club, meditate, get a massage, lean to ride a bike, travel to somewhere you have never been to, try a new sport, take dancing lessons, or lessons in photography, write a story, call your friends and crate a book club, go on a date, or learn to be a ‘yes’ person, avoid making excuses and make commitments to yourself.
Making a commitment helps you find your strength, you make your brain really think, expand and make new circuits. The creative center of your brain starts working and it extends to all areas of your life. You are able to make good decisions, problem solving becomes easier, you are able to see things in a new light of understanding.
The more you try new things, the more you will feel happier. Surprisingly, you find yourself not reliving the past memories, since you started creating new memories. Fear lets go of you, and you get to know yourself better.
This lifetime in a human body experience is temporary and short, it is not worth wasting in fear or bland routines. Life is meant to be lived. Choose to live every moment in excited anticipation. When you take a simple step forward, life partners with you, and takes you ahead a hundred steps more.
Today make a commitment to start doing new things with yourself and live your life to the fullest.
